Driver power state failure is a kind of Blue screen of death. Solutions to fix the drivers power state failure:

Restart your PC:

As this error is caused sometimes by the power buttons so restarting the PC can very much fix the error, but if it doesn’t, then let’s jump to the next solution.

Updating drivers:

So one of the causes of this error is obsolete or incompatible drivers. Hence, updating the drivers of your computer will be the second-best solution. Here is how to do that:

  • Press Windows key + X key
  • Next, click on Device Manager.
  • When the Device Manager manager opens
  • Please select the category you want to update drivers of and click on it, then click update driver.
  • Do this for every driver, or you can download a tool that updates all drivers at one time.

Perform an SFC and DSIM scan:

  • Press Windows key + X key
  • The command prompt window will open click on the run an administrator.
  • Now type in the following command.


  • Then press Enter
  • After SFC is scanned, type in the DSIM command mentioned below.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

  • After the command runs, restart your PC

Disable the sleep mode:

  • Open the Power Settings
  • Find your respective plan and click on change plan settings
  • After that, in sleep mode, select never
  • Click on save changes and ok

Changing power settings in Nvidia control panel:

  • Open the Nvidia control panel
  • Now choose Manage 3D settings
  • In the right panel, select your respective graphic card as the preferred graphics processor
  • Now navigate to Power Management Mode and choose to Prefer Maximum Performance
  • And save changes
