This Program Might not Have Installed Correctly on Windows 8, 8.1, 10
This fix post explains how to fix program compatibility issues in Windows 8. When you run the .NET Framework 4.5 Setup, you may find problems that inhibit or block the .NET Framework installation. These types of problems can occur for many reasons. But one of the main reasons is the Program Compatibility problems.
.NET Framework 4.5 Setup failed with a 1603 error code or blocks when running in Windows Program Compatibility mode. Program Compatibility Assistant indicates that the .NET Framework may not have been installed correctly, and prompts you to reinstall using recommended settings. Program Compatibility mode can also be set by the Program Compatibility Assistant or failed or canceled a previous attempt to run the .NET Framework Setup.
Framework 4.5 Setup can not run in Program Compatibility mode. To solve this blocking problem, you must ensure that the compatibility mode setting is not enabled, system-wide Registry Editor.
How to fix program compatibility issues in Windows 8?
Go to the search box and there type “regedit” and click on the application that appears in the results window.
The windows registry editor will open.
In the registry editor window to go to the following subkey and deleting entries set system application compatibility.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ AppCompatFlags \ Compatibility Assistant \ survive
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ AppCompatFlags \ Layers
Now out of the windows registry and try again to run the setup file.
