The list of fixes and known issues is quite long. So let’s first focus on new features in detail.
Simply, this might not excite a lot of us because we had not been relying on Microsoft Store for Entertainment. But Microsoft has bigger plans with Windows 11 and Store app, so it’s just the beginning.
Entertainment widget will bring latest movies and entertainment releases right into your widget. So, you will get notified about latest entertainment releases while working on your working machine.
If you are interested to add Entertainment widget, open widgets > Add widget > choose Entertainment widget.
Here is the official statement:
We’re introducing a new entertainment widget! The entertainment widget allows you to see new and featured movie titles available in the Microsoft Store. Selecting a movie will direct you to the Microsoft Store to see more information about that title. Just open widgets and click or tap on the “Add widgets” button and choose the entertainment widget. [UPDATE] The entertainment widget is available for Insiders in the following countries: US, UK, CA, DE, FR, AU, JP.
Context Menu Acrylic Visual Style
Have you noticed it before the right click context menu is opaque and boring? Shouldn’t it match the other panes or at least look blurry and semi transparent like taskbar?
Well, this just had happened in 22000.71 update. Say goodbye to the boring context menu.
Haven’t updated yet? Just right click on the desktop and see the opaque context menu for the last time, before it’s gone forever in future.
If you have updated, you will pleased to see how charming it looks now. It reminds me of iOS visual style (excuse me).
Wondering what’s is this New SplitButton?
It’s not really NEW though.
Can you create a NEW FOLDER on desktop or in an existing folder?
Yes, just right click anywhere, hover mouse over NEW > and click on FOLDER in the items list.
That was easy, indeed. Everyone can do that. Now you can do the same in the File Explorer command panel with New SplitButton (the name of the button that expands New items list).
Taskbar preview with round corners
Had you noticed the new round corner design was missing in the taskbar preview when you hover mouse over opened apps or folders on the taskbar? Now this has fixed and the taskbar preview panels have fine and round corners with acrylic effect.
